About Keisha

Keisha earned her Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University in 2019 with a specialization in Therapeutic Recreation, and a special interest in behavioural health and community inclusion. She is a member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario (TRO) delivering therapeutic recreation services to a diverse group of clientele, weaving the concept of wellness into every aspects of the therapeutic process.

Keisha is enthusiastic, passionate, caring and enjoys working with people. She began working in Dementia Care where she was a leader in delivering compassionate care and supporting a transformative culture change in one of Ottawa’s long term care homes. She has also coordinated with a local organization to develop a day program for adults with developmental disabilities, and has previously enjoyed her roles in activity facilitation, day programming, coaching soccer, and working in sports camps.

Being an athlete herself, participating in a wide range of sports, and excelling as a high level soccer player, she values the impact that leisure and recreation can have on promoting success in everyday life. 

​

In addition to team sports, her own leisure pursuits include; camping, hiking, running, cycling, tennis, gardening, rock climbing, crafting, jigsaw puzzles, and adventures with her dog.
